Greek and Roman myths, which Wendy views as adult fairy tales, often influence her art. For our current exhibit she pays homage to the Renaissance artists Botticelli and Caravaggio, reimagining a few of their mythology inspired paintings with our Floriography theme.
Narcissus, according to Greek mythology, was so handsome he fell in love with himself when he saw his reflection in the water. He perished gazing at himself and narcissus grew in his place.
