Caravaggio's Narcissus
- this artwork is one of a kind
Greek and Roman myths, which Wendy views as adult fairy tales, often influence her art. For "Caravaggio's Narcissus" she pays homage to the Renaissance artist Caravaggio, reimagining one of his mythology inspired paintings. Narcissus, according to Greek mythology, was so handsome he fell in love with himself when he saw his reflection in the water. He perished gazing at himself and narcissus grew in his place.
