Greek and Roman myths, which Wendy views as adult fairy tales, often influence her art. For our current exhibit she pays homage to the Renaissance artists Botticelli and Caravaggio, reimagining a few of their mythology inspired paintings with our Floriography theme.

Flora, whose Greek name was Chloris, was the daughter of Zeus (the Greek king of gods). She was associated with springtime and fertility and known to scatter her flowers where ever she went.
