Barbara Chadwick

Barbara Chadwick creates porcelain objects, often incorporating highly embellished surfaces. Her pieces are hand built using slab construction techniques and a variety of texture making tools, ceramics pigments and translucent glazes. Inspired by nature, fabric/textiles, graphic design and architecture - each piece is a representation of her interest in exploring the elements of line, color, pattern and detail. Her genuine enjoyment of the medium is evident by the playful nature of her work, but she also strives to convey refinement and meticulous craftsmanship.

Barbara is chairwoman of Arts and Communications, and art instructor, at Gaston College.
