Botticelli’s Flora
- this artwork is one of a kind
Greek and Roman myths, which Wendy views as adult fairy tales, often influence her art. In "Botticellis's Flora" she pays homage to the Renaissance artist Botticelli and his "Primavera" painting. Flora, whose Greek name was Chloris, was the daughter of Zeus (the Greek king of gods). She was associated with springtime and fertility and known to scatter her flowers where ever she went.
