Shawna Pincus grew up right outside of Philadelphia and attended school at the Maryland Institute College of Art where she earned a BFA in sculptural studies then continued on to Towson University earning her certification in Art Education. Shawna has taught as an art teacher in the public school system, as an adjunct Professor of Art Education for Towson University, and as an instructor at Baltimore Clayworks.
Shawna currently spends most of her time creating hand built pottery in her Baltimore MD studio. Inspired by watercolors, narrative illustration and folk pottery, she works with slabs of clay - layering pattern, texture and hand drawn imagery with her unique screen-printing technique. A mix of satin and glossy glazes provides pops of color and a food safe finish.
