Although a drama student in college, Rebecca found herself inexplicably drawn to the art department where they had a potters wheel. Since she was majoring in theatre, she didn’t pursue that initial “call of the clay” until nearly thirty years later. A friend urged her to take a ceramics class at Clayworks in Charlotte, NC and she’s had her hands in clay ever since.
From her porcelain birds - to sculptures and surface design that evoke animals from an ancient past - Rebecca draws inspiration from the natural world, and all creatures who call it home.
“ When I immerse myself in the mysteries of Nature, I’m in awe and feel peaceful and serene. It’s the same when I’m working with clay. It’s a tactile connection with the natural world.A truly spiritual experience.” ~ Rebecca Story, Charlotte NC
