Kelly Jean Conroy's jewelry focuses on nature and the imperfection of it all. She creates wearable art based on drawings inspired by vintage botanical illustrations and nature guide books. The drawings are scanned and created as vector files, then sized and laser etched onto mother-of-pearl and semi-precious gemstones and set in sterling silver. Originally going to school for art education and painting, Kelly became smitten with enameling after graduating. She went on to complete her MFA in Jewelry Metals from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. When not creating her jewelry, which she describes as “small little stories in stone”, Kelly shares her passion by teaching metal-smithing classes. Click here to read our Q&A with Kelly.
“My grandmother and mother are both artists and it was only natural to always be creating in our household. I had some great art teachers in school and the path was always clear that art was something I was going to do.” ~ Kelly Jean Conroy, West Roxbury MA
