“Aurora”, painted by Guido Reni in 1614 (on a ceiling) was my inspiration for the figures in this painting “Bringing the Dawn”. Reni often found inspiration in the art of the ancient Greeks and Romans illustrating their myths. I was searching for an idea to represent that magical moment when the sun rises across the horizon. Apollo the sun god is riding his golden chariot across the sky ushering in a new day." - Wendy Rouse
