Angie Renfro captures the simple beauty of various subject matter. A sense of calm and nostalgia is juxtaposed by bold strokes in bright colors, creating tension within her oil paintings. A native Texan, Renfro attended art school in San Francisco. After receiving a BFA in 2002, she gained experience in various fields of design that have had a tremendous influence on her artwork.
"I am interested in the idea that despite the increasing ways we have created to network with one another, we can still feel that we stand apart. Through varying subject matter—factories, weeds, birds on a telephone wire—my paintings explore the strength and beauty of the state of aloneness. My hope is that the viewer will feel connected to the sense of disconnect through my vignettes of powerful quiet." ~ Angie Renfro, Three Oaks MI
