Sofia Barao

Sofia Barao's work is based on the juxtaposition of different materials and techniques that validate her ideas. She strives to keep a trace, to question identity and memories, to reinvent a story, to rebuild a past, to find a missing part.  Using acrylics, papers, photos, graphite, wax and transfers she assembles, collages and sews her visions together in order for others to see. Born in Lisbon, Portugal Sofia now resides near Paris, France.
