"Working primarily in oils I combine my love of color, light and space. Referencing my subject, without allowing it to define my painting, I give as much importance to the negative space. Color is primary, reflecting the mood of the painting. Applying brush stroke after brush stroke, creating pieces and patterns of color speaks more of the abstract than the representational. Painting is my passion. It transports me to a peaceful place and renews my spirit. This sense of quietness and tranquility are the elements I try to capture and convey to the viewer."
